ELECTION 2016 PREDICTION: WHO IS THE BIGGEST LOSER?

THIS ELECTION: EVERYONE LOSES

Leaders for Sale!!! Big Sale, June 6!!! Both government and opposition!!!
TAX FREE!!! FULL CONCESSIONS!!!
Free canot and coconuts with every purchase in the World Heritage Site
(while supplies last)

Newsflash: The biggest section of voters this election is not Labour or Flambeau. It’s people who are not voting. They hate Labour and Flambeau more than they love democracy. How the hell did that happen? Didn’t we get rid of all this apathy and antipathy back in 1997?

We didn’t?

No, you’re right. I remember now. We gave up on Kenny Anthony back in 2006. We only brought him back because the UWP, post-Compton, is less than worthless. They’re bloody dangerous. To themselves and everyone around. It’s not that we like Kenny. Most Lucians are revolted by his actions, his intellect and his abs. Flambeau just didn't give us a choice.

What do you want?
MORE LIES & BROKEN PROMISES!!!
When do you want them?
NOW!!!
There’s still time for the major parties to earn our votes. There’s still time to stop selling beaches, start doing math, de-schedule marijuana and jump start a real food based agriculture. There’s still time to clean up the country’s investment program and put St Lucia on track to become the nation that Sir Arthur Lewis wrote about in his economic theses. You know, the ones that won the Nobel Prize and made billions upon untold billions for Singapore?

We still have time.

What we don’t have is faith and trust. We don’t have faith that either Labour or Flambeau knows how to do the right thing anymore. We don’t even know if they remember what the right thing is. We can’t trust them to keep their word. Kenny has broken his word so many times on so many critical issues. And Allen – his word never was worth anything. Never. Not once. Ever.

Read...my...lips...NO! NEW! TAXES!
Let's make St Lucia GRATE AGAIN!!!
CHANGE is coming!!!
And other political slogans I stole because I never had an original thought in my life....

In some constituencies, you have a choice. There’s LPM, Jeannine Compton, Kingsley Charlemagne God-Bless-Him and of course, the Green Party – a bunch of smokers who make more sense in a minute than Labour and Flambeau have made for the last 20 years combined.

In most, you don’t.

You’re going to choose Labour, Flambeau or no vote at all. If you choose Labour, you get more of the same. Most of us are already sure we don’t want that. If you choose Flambeau, you’re just punishing Labour. Come on. Admit it. You don’t think Flambeau is any better than in 2011 when we voted them out. So…

My condolences to you, St Lucian, because the truth is, no matter how this election turns out, YOU ARE THE BIGGEST LOSER.

I don't even know which one is Labour and which one is Flambeau anymore...

There is nothing to do but lose.

Neither major party has a real plan for fixing the economy. Neither has any concern for food security. It’s imaginary to them. They don’t understand that a St Lucian manufacturing base is built mostly on a local agricultural base. They don’t understand that a sustainable services industry grows from that manufacturing base. They can’t see that to be the Caribbean’s little Taiwan, you have to start with farmers.

And in spite of glaring signs from The Lord Almighty Himself, they refuse to legalize ganja at a competitive speed and put us in front of the emerging 21st century legal ganja economy.

In spite of the failure of one hotel after another, they continue to build one hotel after another, each new investor shadier than the last, each new hotel devastating another national natural treasure.

What…the…FIP (financial investment program)…are they thinking?

 #WASTETHEVOTE2016

Want to hear a story? It's not really a story but...

Once upon a time, a now, now time ago, there is a girl named Helen and she is you. Your mother. Your sister. Your daughter. But mostly, she's you.

You.
Labour and Flambeau are two men who want your vagina. Each one says he’s better than the other. Each one makes more and more ridiculous promises. But once you choose one, he starts beating you, stealing your money, pimping you out to millionaires and billionaires and paying you like a hotel worker while he pockets the big money.

So, five years later, you leave him and run into the arms of the other.

Guess what?

Your new boyfriend is pimping you out to the same big boys. You’re still getting abused. Still getting robbed. Still getting pimped out like the helpless jamet they tell you that you are.

So…you go back to the first one…jackass…your stepfather’s shaking his head (Britain)…your real father shaking his head (France)…your sisters don’t even want to watch you in your eye (Martinique, Barbados)…your mother, that woman is such a mess, she's still taking licks  from your father and stepfather (Africa). But it's like you're not learning. Your whole family is not learning.

So many hundred years of abuse and y'all still there taking kicks in y'all head?

When is that girl Helen going to stop letting these politicians prostitute her? When is she going to exercise some goddamned self-respect?

I’ll tell you when the abuse will stop.

When Lucians realize that they don’t have to make a choice between Labour and Flambeau. You don’t have to pick to lesser of two evils. In fact, you have a moral obligation to stay the hell away from evil whenever you cannot send it directly to hell. But you still don't get it. You feel compelled to do the same shate again and again. You call it responsible behaviour.

Just like that girl Helen, stuck between two abusive boyfriends.

“But what to do?” she cries to the counselors. “Whichever one I choose the same thing happens.”

So, don’t choose either one.

“But how will I survive? How will I live without one of them to help me and support me and guide me and give me Ti Kaka Dans?”

Supporters for LIFE!!!
De Party take good care of we...belch!

And the counselor tries to explain that these men don’t support her, she supports them. They live on her account. They only ever spend HER money. If she left them, she would have tons more money. Hundreds of millions more.

But she’s convinced. Without these men who beat her and prostitute her, she’s nothing. In her mind, she HAS to choose the lesser of two evils.

This kind of thinking passes as morality in a democracy.

But as educated Neg Marron, you and I know that this is complete bullshit.

Whether the cap is red or the piss is yellow, the bullshit is still brown.

THE IMMORALITY OF CHOOSING LESSER EVILS

We didn't have to choose between the British and the French. We didn't have to choose anything that has to do with continuing slavery or even servitude. We could just take our black behinds to the allegorical bush and make our complots until we are ready to return and sack the damned plantations. And make no mistake, dear Labour and Flambeau, the day will soon come when the growing majority will sack you and your 21st century plantations. You better call Ralph Abercrombie if you want to survive.

Are you frightened or excited by what I just said? Cos if you’re frightened, you might need to rethink your progressive Christian values.

If slaves didn’t disobey, if they didn’t break the law, if they didn’t commit atrocities, you and I might still be in chains today. I don’t like atrocity. It has a violent momentum. It never stops at the atrocity. The holocaust becomes the Palestinian occupation. . Communist purges bound people with fear in a system that, according to its designers, could only work in a Tolstoyan environment of selflessness and personal commitment to the greater good. Slavery becomes capitalism becomes economic cannibalism.Christian conservatism becomes a homophobic Inquisition.

Not voting is a kind of atrocity.

Imagine democracy as an ice cream that has been magically filled with all the nutrients you need and you knocked the ice cream out of their hand instead of saying, “Thanks.” That's what not voting us. Egregious. My kids might get licks for that. It would certainly merit some kind of punishment.

Australia, as a nation, agrees. Down there, everybody votes. It’s against the law not to do your duty for your country. It’s against good reasoning to have a law saying you can’t betray your country, without having a law that says, you MUST vote. Not should. MUST. Not voting is so passive, it seems harmless. But not voting thwarts democracy. Those who don’t vote leave us with governments who are NOT representative of ALL the people. And THAT, we can all agree, is an atrocity.

It’s a goddamned abomination.

Yet, somehow, that is all we ever had. Democracy has never been perfect. It couldn’t be. People are not perfect. People are docile. Corrupt. Wicked. Selfish. Dishonest. Democracy can’t help but reflect that…and so much more accurately than communism, socialism or the fascism and totalitarianism that often dresses up like communism and socialism.

Some people say that voting third party, like LPM, the Greens, Jeannine, is like throwing your vote away. I agree. If you vote with them you are wasting that vote, not just in this moment, but for years to come. If the young revolutionaries and progressives of this generation grow up to be fat assholes like their parents, it will be generations before that 2016 LPM/Green vote is worth something. It could be forever. Those guys are not going to win. Not this time.

Well, you can't say I ever lied to you or made a promise I didn't fulfill...
But it’s still better than voting for Labour and Flambeau.

At least these parties and independent candidates have never done you any wrong. They never beat you. They never pimped you out. They never stole your stuff. They never lied or even broke a promise to you. They are like that nerd the girls always have in the friend zone, a true friend for life who will wait forever to get a piece of that.

Labour and Flambeau are like two men, each one is saying he is better than the other, but when you go with him, he takes your money, beats you stupid and sends to you running for the other one. Repeat cycle. Ad nauseum.

I said that already? I’ll say it again. I’ll say it until they stop raping our country. They don’t scare me. We're already raped. I'll say it different ways.

Labour and Flambeau are like a unhappy wife and a jealous jabal. Both of them say they love you more, but both of them just blow your money away on useless vanity. Both of them are in love with ANY AND ALL Eastern European billionaires who fly in here on a rented plane as though he owns a jet.

Labour and Flambeau are an obeah man and a Satanist both trying to convince you that they are Christian clergy. Labour and Flambeau are a banker and an insurance salesman both trying to get you to buy things you don't need. Labour and Flambeau are two lawyers, each one swindling you by telling you the other one is swindling you.

Labour and Flambeau are...you get the picture.

...COS STONE COLD SAYS SO...

I am about to advocate the most irresponsible and unethical thing I ever have.

For the first time in my life, I am an active non-voter. And I am encouraging any and every one to join a movement that requires you to do nothing. Nothing at all. Except let the two major parties in St Lucia know how much we hate them and what they have done to St Lucia.

Right now, I am for ALL third parties. (Thanks for not running, Richard Frederick. I couldn’t have made that statement without you.) But because I don't have an independent or third party candidate, I am for not voting,

If you think there is something wrong with not voting and something immoral about promoting it, you’re damned right.

Yet, if you and I were under the whip on a plantation in the 1700s, I would aim to recruit you to help me burn the master’s house down, slit his nose, ears and throat and stuff his rapist testicles up his rectum.

Artist's rendition of MASSA as he prepares to rape...or eat his ears and nose...
Whichever you choose...it's up to you...
I would do that for you.

It’s not the person I was raised to be, but it’s the kind of person I chose to be.

I want to vote for a third party, but in the constituency where I live, I don’t have that option. My only moral choice this year is to join the tens of thousands of Lucians who are simply walking off the damned plantation. I think that the future is made of people who made a thoughtful choice not to give Labour and Flambeau their vote.

And why would they?

All Labour and Flambeau are offering us escalating empty promises which only cover their bad intentions. They tell us we are going to get good government and all we get is one communications minister after another blowing hundreds of millions away on nothing in particular. And each one is worse than the one before him.

What the hell is that about?

Are they learning from each other?

THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL
They are literally laughing AT us

Still not buying the need not to vote, Mr Peterkin?

Then think about this, Mrs Hippolyte:

Each successive government since the 1979-81 implosion has been progressively worse. Compton, who was a kind of economic revolutionary before 1979, stood still and watched the clock run out on the banana industry protections after 1981. Kenny rode in on a high horse of promises, most of which never came true. His first two terms in office succeeded in convincing St Lucians that no matter how bad Compton was, they preferred him to Kenny’s expensive and disappointing failure to put us on top of the 21st century.

Of course, Compton went and died, leaving us with a bunch of criminals in government who barely managed to not to eat each other alive in office. Their one term in office persuaded that Lucians that no matter how much they hated Kenny’s empty promises and consistent, costly failure, it was better Kenny than the criminals. Thanks Compy. Way to ruin your own legacy.

Andre De Caires -THE NEW ECONOMIC REVOLUTIONARY
Cos whether you like it or not, GANJA IS THE NEW BANANA!!!!

Kenny promised that the criminals would go to jail, but when he got back in office in 2011, he did everything necessary to ensure that the criminals would remain in charge of Flambeau and be available to stand for election in 2016.

Thanks, Obama. I mean, Kenny.

With both major parties now populated by rejects and their lackeys, an increasing majority of us in the active voting population are faced with a quandary. We don’t know which major party is worse. This election is mainly about convincing us who is worse. It's a hard sell. Both major parties are struggling because they are maji and everyone, including their most hardcore supporters know it.

Which is worse? Labour or Flambeau...?

Answer: Whichever one forms the next government.

That's just the fact established by the last 35-40 years of history.

And they said I was the bad guy.

But like the biggest party of voters on the island, I don’t want to be persuaded. Not by the two parties who have spent the last three and a half decades destroying the future of Fair Helen.

No matter who wins the election, they can consider me their opposition from this moment forth.

I want them to look at the results of the election, look at the historically low turn out, look at the opposition’s numbers and know that even when they add their numbers to their rivals, party people are going to be the minority on this island.

The rest of us are sick and tired of your expensive, mindless bullshit.

This rest of us don’t care with your worn out ideologies or your empty promises. We don't care who the leaders are and we don't need to like them either. We just want something that works. Because for us, The Struggle always continues. And Labour and Flambeau have spent the last few decades making that Struggle harder.

You can't make us choose. You bastards. You can't make us do anything. We're the boss and you're the well paid servant. You have to do what we say. You have to shut up and listen. You have to execute OUR agenda.

You have to earn our votes.

Maybe, next time...after you get rid of that crop of useless leaders corrupting this democracy.

But this time? Neither Labour or Flambeau have done anything to deserve it. They didn't earn it. They can't have it.

Put that in democracy's crack pipe, you pathetic partisan zombies.

IF UWP WINS, IT'S KENNY'S FAULT

How Everything Wrong With SLU Is Kenny’s Fault.

ALLEN CHASTANET
The Most Dangerous Man in the OECS
(Think about it. Have you ever seen these children again?)
Allen Chastanet is more dangerous for St Lucia than Kenny Anthony. Allen Chastanet is not suitable to run his own father’s business far less our country. Allen Chastanet is worthless. Allen is all fail, all the time. Allen Chastanet is the reason white people don't win anymore.

Make no mistake. If Allen Chastanet’s UWP wins this election, it will not be because of anything Allen did. It will be all Kenny’s fault.

Labourites will have a hard time coming to terms with this. They are like African-Americans who vote for Hillary Clinton reflexively, without once realizing that Bernie Sanders is talking about black power for everybody. People who think they are winning always have a harder time taking a risk. Or seeing the facts for what they are. Isn’t that ironic? In this election, Labourites are acting like the conservatives.

Gimme a minute to roll the Georges, Charles and Odlum, back into the right position in their graves.
Kenny, I'm pregnant...
Me too! Me too! I'm pregnant too!

Everything wrong with St Lucia right now is Kenny Anthony’s fault, even the stuff he didn’t do. Maybe especially the stuff he didn’t do.

Now coming to the ring, weighing in at a combined 525 pounds,
most of them hanging around Peter's egotistical ass...
THE TAG TEAM CHAMPEEEEEENS OF THE WORLD
THE FREE...SPEECH....KILLAZZZZZ!!!!
In 1997, he promised us a true free press with monthly press conferences and…well, with the way the Senate President and the House Speaker are coming down on the media as a tag team these days, strategizing in secret Stalinist meetings how to attack and take down another anti-Putin, anti-Labour journalist, you can just write off Labour as the government of press freedom. If they were, they would have written press freedom into the constitution back when they had a 16-1 constitutional majority. But they didn’t. Instead, starting with Article 361, they seemed to only get worse when it comes to widening the freedom of St Lucian citizens.
Will someone please legalize ganja so that Jason can stop terrorizing me about my hypocrisy!
Kenny Anthony never made big promises to farmers. He never really gave a damn about them. You see, Kenny doesn't eat. He only drinks scotch. But you would think that an academic who has read a bit of history would know that you can’t have a nation without a viable agriculture and you can’t have a viable St Lucian agriculture without de-scheduling marijuana. Over the 20 years we’ve known Kenny, agriculture has been in constant decline. He could have turned it around when he came in 2011, but he opted instead to piss off the Taiwanese, the one global partner we have who knows how to help us get up off our knees using food production as the base.

I NEVER said that! I never promised not to sell the...Oh Shit! It's in the 2011 manifesto? Who de hell put that in the...oh, me...yes, yes, I remember now. I was mamaguying the people to win an election....

The beaches, he promised never to sell them. Look it up in Labour’s election manifestos. Allen Chastanet used to dream of selling beaches instead of having sex with girls, as a teenager, so it was no surprise when, as tourism minister, he tried to sell some beaches – right before an election, no less. Lol. With Allen, you know what you’re getting. It’s back to the plantation neo-liberal World Bank style. Allen Chastanet will sell the Pitons and the Sulfur Springs if he gets  half a chance. It’s his philosophy. But Allen Chastanet never successfully sold a beach. Who is the biggest beach seller in St Lucia? Kenny Anthony. That bastard. That godless bastard.

You forgot fagget. He's a godless fagget bastard. Get it right, Jason.

Now that both Richard Frederick and Rufus Bousquet are out of St Lucian politics (for good, dear Lord, for good?) I think we can all admit that St Lucian politics took a dark turn around 2005/6. It was supposed to be a brighter with the return of John Compton, but instead it was the dawn of the rogue state. Once John Compton died, St Lucian government became increasingly corrupt and criminal. Kenny Anthony could have prevented the criminals who took over from Compton from ever getting into office if he had just called the elections sooner than December 2011. If he had just listened to his own advisers. If he had just used good judgement. But he doesn’t have good judgement. What he has is power madness. So he called the election too late, Flambeau won and we are still suffering the consequences of what Richard Frederick, Guy Joseph, Rufus Bousquet and the gang did in their one term of office. It’s his fault they got into office.

We're not even going to talk about the fact that he robbed us of a great prime minister (Mario Michel) by pretending he never promised to spend only two terms. That whole 2006-11 mess Flambeau made - that should have been Mario Michel's first term in office.

Thanks for nothing, Kenny!
I'm home free, bitches! Thanks to Kenny
YOU CAN'T TOUCH THIS!

Even Philip J Pierre thinks that...when he thinks only Comrade Pel and the real Labourites can hear him.

Once he returned to power, Kenny could have kept his campaign promises to arrest the more well-known criminals of the former government. It wasn’t as hard as he makes it sound now. Both the Americans and the British tried desperately to assist St Lucia to clean up. But Kenny didn’t want that. He didn’t want Flambeau to change for the better. He wanted them to stay the same so that he could face them in the next election – this election – and say, “Are you kidding me? I’m better than these guys. Crapaud scenti is better than these guys.” And he would be right. Except for the fact that he is no better than them. If he was, he wouldn’t let them escape unscathed for the tens of millions of dollars that simply disappeared and the tens of millions more that were put to corrupt uses.
"Isn't that right, Kenny? You bent-over little bordah, you...."

Kenny assured us that the police had acted as criminals during Operation Restore Confidence when they turned Jeremie Street and the four ghettoes of Castries into Afghanistan and then proceeded to terminate a special list of bad boys with what Robert Ludlum used to call ‘extreme sanction’. He cried out for justice to be done and seen to be done. But when he got into office, there was only whimpering and doublespeak about why he was not co-operating with international efforts to have justice be seen to be done.

You kill people, you go to jail
I kill people, I gets paid
Show me the money!!!

As for foreign affairs, who can imagine a bigger foreign affairs screw up that Kenny engineered over the last half decade. In his last days in opposition in 2011, it was the first time in forever that the United States of America was more willing to work with Labour than with the United Workers Party. Taiwan was fed up of Flambeau’s corruptions and was more than willing to throw them under the bus to work with Labour. Beijing was not in a position to let St Lucia switch allegiances from Taipei anyway. So what did Kenny do? Did he cut a deal with Taiwan to flood St Lucia with hundreds of millions in exchange for diplomatic relations? Did he work closely with the US to investigate the extra-judicial killings by the cops? Did he do anything about the man he called ‘the single most disturbing development in local politics’?

Tanto, tanto, he kept promising. But Tanto never comes, at least not when Kenny promises.

Richard Frederick keeps giving him the finger, in public, on television and he just sucks it all up like a good boy. He prefers to be seen as a blatant liar who manipulates justice to protect his most corrupt enemies than to keep his promises.

What kind of man is that?

What kind of human defends corruption and criminality in his enemies?

The kind that wants to beat Allen Chastanet in an election, that’s what.

Thankfully, whether he wins or whether he loses, this will be the last time we have to vote for or against Kenny Anthony. If he wins, we only have to survive five years or less of him. If he loses, well good riddance to him and I have no doubt that at this time next, most Flambeaus will be willing to throw UWP under the bus.

This is the situation that Kenny Anthony has put us in. We are caught between a rock and a hard place. Between the devil and the deep blue sea. Between the world’s dumbest mulatto and a man who was supposed to be the smartest shabine Vieux Fort ever made. Turns out, that’s no difference at all.
"Alright! That's enought messing around! Get back to work Negroes!! And no smoking that ganja either!!!"

ARE OLLIE GOBAT'S MURDERERS HIDING BEHIND ST LUCIA'S DEATH PENALTY

DEATH & CONSEQUENCES: The Bullshit Behind Capital Punishment In A Small Island Where No One Has The Guts

No one in this parliament wants to face the consequences of implementing the death penalty.
No one has the taste for it.
No one implements it.
So why do we have a death penalty at all?

St Lucia will probably never execute another prisoner again.

But political leaders lack the courage and the virtue to stand up for human rights and repeal the death penalty.

Or maybe they’re just using the death penalty to help hide the truth about Ollie Gobat’s murder. Oh, the hypocrisy…the unforgiving transparency of it all.

More and more, the Ollie Gobat murder is proving that St Lucian politics and law enforcement is a major obstacle to the solving of murders on the island, rather than a driving force.

Over the last few months, the St Lucian government’s senseless stance to maintain the status quo on the dormant death penalty has exposed a frightening hypocrisy on the part of the Labour government: The death penalty in St Lucia, which has not been implemented for three decades, is serving mainly as a device for frustrating the ability of international law enforcement to assist St Lucian police.

It certainly isn't being used for anything else but obstructing justice.

THE SLAVE CATCHERS SONG
"Police! Police!
Run for your lives!
It's the police!"

The Royal St Lucia Police Force is a classic case of a colonial institution spreading rot in the independence era. It is descended from militias that used to hunt runaway slaves and has always been a force, not for protecting the majority of citizens, but for protecting the owners of the island from the majority of citizens.

(I really tried to make a joke out of that one, but….)

The St Lucian Police Force is so deeply rotted and corrupt that no amount of individual genius can clean it up. Ask former commissioner Ausbert Regis. Ask current commissioner Vernon Francois. Or rather don’t ask Francois. The poor guy is clueless. You could probably run a whole assassination squad in that Force with Francois’ signature and his ignorance.
Individual genius....
St Lucian C.O.P. Vernon "Blondy" Francois
He doesn't need international help to solve
 all these unsolved murders

NOw, there’s a guy, who if he was white, would be blonde.

The local cops need help. It takes a national collective effort and an honest bilateral effort with the countries mostly likely to get pooped on by cocaine passing through our ports.

It’s a big job. It’s going to take years and millions. You’d think both major political parties would agree to get that going and stick to the plan.

Nah.

Instead, they are agreed on stalling the upgrading of the Royal St Lucia Police Force for as long as they possibly can. They’re practically thwarting progress with political interference. From the outside looking in, it looks like deliberate self sabotage.

But why, you ask, would any government fuck their police force over requests by powerful foreign forces for honest and inclusive investigations?  Why would any government throw away training opportunities for their cops and turn their backs on assistance in investigating vicious murders if all the donors wanted in return was the truth?

Sovereignty? Really? Maintaining the death penalty is now a legit way to express our sovereignty?

Whether you're for the death penalty or not, that just sounds stupid. But that’s what our government says.

Makes you wonder what the justice minister and the foreign minister are smoking nowadays.
"Now this," said the journalist Ras, "is what the Prime Minister
and the foreign affairs minister are NOT smoking.
Instead they are dragging their feet on freeing up the ganja economy."

"Oooh," nodded the others. "That explains everything."

BAD BOYZ, BAD BOYZ,  WHATCHU GONNA DOOOO…?
The Sisters of the Unsentimental Stalemate:
Former UWP kingmaker Richard Frederick
and current UWP king, Allen Chastanet

The truth is that for the last decade, we have seen a resistance to justice in the leadership circles of St Lucia that has grown to international proportions. We’ve seen a Flambeau government get written off by its strongest allies as a bunch of bloodless criminals.

"Psst! Allen, I think FLOGG Blog is back on our ass..."
Allen Chastanet and Guy Joseph
This was followed directly by a Labour government that did everything it possibly could to stall any true investigation of the criminal enterprises of the former government. This has caused even deeper problems for St Lucia’s international relations.

While St Lucia was pissing off the US on behalf of Cuba over the last few years, Cuba was busy getting closer the US in preparation for the ending the trade embargo against them.
Lol. But the foreign relations comedy of Labour and Flambeau is a whole ’nother show. What is in focus here is the defense of criminality.

Kenny Anthony: What a CON'T!!!
(Which, of course, is short for
CONSTITUTION LAWYER)
Both the Kenny Anthony government and the cast of characters who call themselves Flambeau today seem to love fucking with international law enforcement. The 2006-11 government Flambeau’s Forty Feeves frustrated all efforts of the US State department and their related federal agencies to investigate a member of their government. In fact, that government even thwarted local efforts to investigate members of their government. By the end of their ‘reign’ both friends and foes alike agreed that the 2006-11 government could accurately be described as a transparent criminal enterprise. They are currently doing everything in their power to get away from the individual in question, in spite of their hierarchy being totally polluted by others who were party to the most nefarious doings of that so-called government. In short, the rest of the criminals in that party are trying to get away from the one criminal who seemed most criminal, in the hopes that no one will remember that they are the same criminals who aided and abetted the old criminals.

One could not imagine expecting the same from Labour. But when Labour came back into power in 2011, largely on the basis of rejecting of criminal enterprise in government, one of the first things they did was frustrate US law enforcement’s most diplomatic efforts to investigate that very same criminal enterprise.

By January of 2007, the US State Department already knew how much co-operation they were going to get from Kenny Anthony when it came to cleaning up justice in St Lucia:

None.
Up to this very day, Labour has managed to keep the Americans out of any investigation of the police force or by the police force. As far as they are concerned, the criminal enterprises of the former government should be of no great concern to the US. Such trivial travesties should only be political fodder for the St Lucian campaign trail.

After all, how would it be if Lucian politicians started selling out each other’s corruptions to foreign law enforcement? That’s a zero-sum game that ends with no politicians at all. Right?

Yep. Even when it’s wrong. Which explains we're still waiting for the sterilized version of the report from the Caribbean team of investigators on what the hell happened in 2009-10 when it looked very much like Lucian cops were on an extra-judicial killing spree.

It’s the kind of thing that makes you go, ‘Hmm…’

Kenny Anthony and his cohort promised us the head of political criminality on a stick. But it seems that they had no choice but to expose themselves to us as hypocrites who are, in principle, no better than the criminal enterprise they warned us to vote against in 2011. Are you kidding me? We must be making blague. National blague.

LET’S GO OVER THIS AGAIN
No amount of reasoning will make the St Lucian government’s position on the death penalty, on Ollie Gobat’s murder and on the investigation of the Royal St Lucia Police Force make sense.

Consider the facts:

St Lucia needs assistance to investigate some very troublesome and disturbing murders and Britain is very willing to provide that help. But Britain wants assurances that no one implicated in the case will face the death penalty. They had a bad experience where they helped Kenya solve some horrific crimes, but Kenya executed the perps, which of course makes British law enforcement, which against the death penalty, partners in an act of capital punishment. They can’t afford for that to happen again. But they can’t just let St Lucian law enforcement and St Lucian courts botch this investigation like they do every other major mystery. So they offer help, with the condition that we can’t execute the perps.

The correct answer to that is, "Sure. Why not? We don't have the guts to implement the death penalty anyway. We just keep it on the books to look tough." But noooo.....

St Lucia is affronted, saying that Britain should not interfere in sovereign affairs like the death penalty and legalized homophobia and other important stuff.

The irony is that the St Lucian government is admitting that they don’t really implement the death penalty anyway.

How does that add up? It doesn’t. It’s not supposed to.

You see, no St Lucia government for decades has had the guts to implement the death penalty. Capital punishment is an ugly thing. Killing another person is cruel and doesn’t prove anything except that the punisher lacks the imagination, the patience and the will to act in a godly/civilized way towards another.

Implementing a death sentence takes a lot of political support and a lot of guts and perhaps a bit of a tyrannical streak. It requires a leader to strong opposition from those that will not live in a barbaric unimaginative society. It requires you, as a leader, to admit that you're a bit of an Unchristian asshole.

No leader wants that.

I had the balls for it.
I was just using them on....
something else...
John Compton didn’t have the balls for it and he had more balls in his left ball sac than the entire generation of current leaders has in all their scrota put together. They prefer to do everything possible to let that sleeping dog lie.

There is simply not a St Lucian leader with the guts to implement the death penalty and face the consequences.
But speaking of not having guts...
No St Lucian leader has the guts to strike the death penalty down either. They can’t face the consequences of executing a death penalty,  but they don’t want to have to stand up for human rights against the widespread ignorance that still imagines that the death penalty is a deterrent, rather than an admission of failure, the second wrong that doesn’t make a right.

DAWN OF THE SAME DAMNED THING
As a new election campaign season dawns on us like the blinding light of a sodium flood lamp in an East European rendition facility, the questions will come back like ghosts.
It will not just be about the economy. Labour and Flambeau wish it was about the economy.

It’s about justice in St Lucia.

It’s about the fact that Flambeau fucked us good and Labour is covering up for them and shielding them from justice.

Our economic well-being is just a smokescreen that hides what is really going on behind the scenes in sweet St Lucia. Human rights and freedom, the essential substance of our nation are being sold out by our leadership to protect their power. Our poverty and prosperity are just effects. The real story is just beginning to be told.

In the meantime, keep an eye on what's really hiding behind the death penalty. Chances are, it killed Ollie Gobat.
